Has anybody else had their iphone 6 plus stuck in "prepairing to ship" status for more the 5 days from the Apple Store? Thanks everybody!

I havent ordered the plus model, but I have ordered the regular model. I ordered the gold 64gb version on 9/28/2014, through AT&T on the phone, and since my order, I have still been on the preparing to ship phase, and I am almost passed my delivery date.
Yes my order was showing the same thing until today, 10/09/2014 and now I'm being told by Apple that back orders are delaying shipment until 11/20/2014.
Totally unexceptable from a company the size of Apple, but what can you do....
I ordered an iphone 6 at the AT&T store on 9/24. My ship date range was 10/15-10/22. Just last night on 10/21, my ship date was unceremoniously changed to 11/1-11/15 (which i found out only by checking the status of my order). So I've been waiting a month already and now I may have to wait another 3 weeks! Jeez. Makes me want to switch to Verizon iphone.
Ordered an iPhone 6 (16G/Space Gray) through Verizon on 10/27. Since that time, the website says scheduled ship date Nov 14th. Today is the 15th, so I called and was told the same thing. When I pointed out that the 14th was yesterday, the lady checked and said that the order has been pushed back because of demand until Nov 24th. I asked why I had not been notified, I was told I 'should' have received and email. I didn't, or I wouldn't be calling! I am so frustrated. I know several people on other carriers who ordered after me who have already received their phones.
